October 2024 harvest in Sicily.

Cuvée made from a blend of indigenous Sicilian varieties: Nocellara, Biancolilla, Cerasuola, Calamignara
- Our olives are grown organically and harvested early, at the start of the season, when they are still green.
- We cold press them within 12 hours using a low oxygen impact system.
- We filter the oil through cellulose panels to remove 100% of the residue, which helps improve the stability of the oil over time.

 

Aromatic notes

olixir® presents a fruity bouquet, opening with elegant notes of green olives, followed by fresh and herbaceous touches of wild herbs and artichoke, to finish with a hint of black pepper. On the palate, it is well-balanced and harmonious. The taste and retro-nasal sensations match and enhance its aromas. It proudly reveals a pleasant degree of bitterness and spiciness, testifying to the presence of polyphenols.

olixir® won the GREAT TASTE AWARD again in 2024 for the third consecutive year.

Benefits

The main nutritional values ​​and their health benefits are:

1. The high concentration of polyphenol-antioxidants in olixir® protects blood lipids from oxidation. The European Food Safety Authority - EFSA - has validated the results of a series of clinical studies linking polyphenols in extra virgin olive oil and cardiovascular health. Polyphenols present in olive oil have been shown to contribute to the protection of blood lipids from oxidative stress, a key factor in the prevention of cardiovascular diseases. Olive oil must have a certain polyphenol content to have this beneficial impact and must be consumed daily at a rate of 20-30 g, the equivalent of 2-3 tablespoons.

2. Thanks to its high vitamin E content, it protects cells against oxidative stress.

3. It contributes to the reduction of cholesterol thanks to its high content of healthy monounsaturated fatty acids (oleic acid). Replacing saturated fats with unsaturated fats - including monounsaturated - in the diet has been shown to have positive effects on the reduction of blood cholesterol.

4. It has very low acidity, thus ensuring high quality nutrition.
